Lipstick 'n Lovebats Collaboration

I met Carmen from Lipstick 'n Lovebats at the Father's House Zanethemba Fashion Show a few weeks back. We chatted briefly on the evening and when she called me the following week to ask about a creative collaboration I was just so excited! In the end, three ladies with incredible passion put together the looks for these photos: Carmen Vosloo from Lipstick 'n Lovebats, Kary M with her gorgeous headpieces, and the amazingly talented Stephanie Saskia who did all the make-up. I was lucky enough to document it all on camera with the help from four beautiful models.

Sjoe - I am just so proud of these photos as they make their debut on my blog!  What else can I say, the first foray into fashion photography was nerve wrackingly-exciting. All the photographs were taken at Colonial Antiques and we made use of the natural light in the enormous store. The most difficult part of this shoot was being faced with too many options - nooks and crannies, little corners, fabulous old furniture... it was simply a photographer's dream.

A huge thanks to everyone who was involved. To the models Carmen, Noreen, Oyanda, and Tazmin - you ladies made my job far too easy. Each of you have been blessed with absolute beauty and grace, and I am so happy we got to work together xxx A big thank you must also go to Sass Diva for the funky jewelry that the models wore.

OK, that's it from me. We start off with the fabulous Mz Carmen herself :)

Enjoy!

Charlotte's Portrait Session

Niki M Photography has a brand new website! Visit www.nikimphotography.co.za to view all my latest work :)

Waaaaay back when I photographed Benjamin and Georgina, Charlotte and I took some time after the shoot to do portraits in her old wedding dress. It was so peaceful in her garden, and the twins were munching on lunch so we had a decent amount of time to spend on the photos... and they are just too beautiful not to share!

Stefan's Portfolio Shoot

Niki M Photography has a brand new website! Visit www.nikimphotography.co.za to view all my latest work :)

Stefan contacted me a while ago to expand his modelling portfolio with new photos. He is a model at Y Models in CT. Once we finally got dates pinned down, we experienced the best weather ever! This was one of the few times I've made it down to the beach for an afternoon shoot and it was not a gale in the making :)

We had such a blast at these two sessions! Stefan was ready and willing to jump and laugh and goof around - and also to be serious and very model-like. We experimented with light and lens-flare from the sun. The two locations were the Donkin in Central PE, and Sardinia Bay Beach - the trusty favourite. On both occasions there were hardly any people about - but we didn't waste any time grabbing two cute dogs on the beach and playing with them :) The sunset was amazing to top it off. Aaaah - what an awesome shoot!

Bernice

I am beginning to wonder if this wind and miserable weather will ever cease and so I turned to happier, sunnier days.  Don't get me wrong... somewhere, deep inside, I am thankful for the rain. But this PE wind is starting to get to me. When we were still discussing living in PE, all our PE friends/family had only one thing to say "The wind in PE really isn't that bad. It's only for a small part of the year doll." I strongly disagree people, March through to January is more than a small piece of the proverbial pie.

Anyway :) Bernice and I met at Sards Beach early on a beautiful spring morning, and she turned out to be a fantastic model. She was even brave enough to wade slowly into the water...and swiftly out again. The wind (ahem.) howled the previous night, and left the most amazing patterns on the dunes, which we used to our full advantage. She smiled, I clicked... it was wind-free bliss!

Bianca

Playing catch up with my Facebook page :)

On a personal level, these first two photos rank within my favourites. Take a look and let me know if you agree. There is just something so...contemplative about them. Moody and expressive... just up my alley :)
Bianca was an awesome model and we produced some really great work together. Thanks sweets!
